Mr Yaver Imam, Director, Global Marketing and Product Management, was one of the key spokespersons of Global Mining Summit held at Kolkata from 16th to 19th November. In his presentation he threw light on the mining scenario in India and put forward his views and suggestions on “Mineral Auctions in India”.

“Global Mining Summit(GMS) is the signature initiative being organized concurrently with the International Mining Machinery Exhibition. Over the years this flagship event of the CII National Mining Committee has emerged as the forum to be for the mining leaders to congregate both internationally and from India. It brings together the government policy makers, mining professionals, technology providers, financing institutions, academia, geologists, environmentalists and consultants to deliberate of the emerging issues and challenges being faced by the sector. This cross pollination of ideas leads to the evolution of a shared agenda that is pursued with the stakeholders by the committee.

Another key take away of GMS is a strong buyer-seller meet, where large mining companies share their procurement plans alongwith identifying the key technology and collaboration opportunities available with them in the next 2 -3 years time.
